IQCG #40 - Fall theme

Hello friends,

The summer heat is about to end and we are welcoming the beautiful season of Autumn. Autumn is the second spring when every flower is a leaf. The roads are full of the beautiful dead leaves. It just reminds me that sometimes the end could be as beautiful as the beginning.

Well, keeping in mind the beauty of this season we have come up with the Fall theme and here is my inspiration.

Waiting to see all your wonderful entries for this amazing cue... I am sure we will get to see some amazing stuff as usual... Link up your project here.

IQCG #39 - India

August being the month which we all Indians rejoice. Our day of independence just around the corner. Keeping that in mind, we at IQCG have the theme 'India' for our challenge this month.

I really took some time to come up with something for this theme and finally ended up making a peacock which is our national bird and also something that I had not tried so far.

IQCG# 38 - Mixed Media - Textures and Shine

Time for the monthly challenge at the IQCG blog and this time we are looking for something mixed media with lots of textures and shine.

My DT inspiration is here

I altered a perfume bottle and thoroughly enjoyed the process and was absolutely thrilled with the outcome. I started of with pasting tissue paper with some gel medium. Once that was dried I glued the chipboard and the glued elements(flowers and leaves). The next step was applying black gesso and once that dried I coloured the flowers and leaves and the chipboard with some metallic acrylic paint.
Sprayed some mica sprays  and spread some gold wax for an added effect. Finished it off with some microbeads.

Materials used :
Gel medium
Tissue paper
Black gesso
Metallique wax
Mica sprays
Micro beads
Acrylic paint

#74 - Fresh Cut Florals

At the start of the year I promised myself to craft more but due to some really urgent and important personal issues couldn't do that for the past few months. Now, I am trying to get back to more of crafting so hopefully I post regularly.

This week I thought of playing with my most favorite floral stamp set - WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals. Made a card using this stamp set, the background is done using the Tim Holtz Dots Fade stencil and the sentiment is die-cut using Simon Says Stamps 'Happy' die.

Thanks!!!

IQCG #37 - Blue with a splash

"To a thirsty man, a drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold"

To me, the word 'splash' will always get childhood memories when I played in the rain, jumped in puddles and splashed water all over. That's what my son does today :-)

But water is getting scarce today that we have save every drop of it and that what I have tried to portray in my entry here.

IQCG #36 - Rainbow Colors

Somewhere over the rainbow,
skies are blue,
And the dreams that you,
Dare to dream,
Really do come true.

And that is the theme for the May challenge. Such a wonderful cue to create a project. I made a simple little jellyfish with 10mm strips and used all the rainbow colors.

#72 - Snowflakes on pink

Back again with another card from the Simon Says stamp January Kit. I have 2 more cards to share which I will be doing tomorrow.

I stamped the snowflakes with Versamark and white embossed them on a pink cardstock. White embossed the sentiment on vellum and glued it onto the pink cardstock. Finished off with a few sequins.

Thank You!!

#71 - Colored Snowflake

And I am still playing with the Simon Says Stamps January Card Kit.

Today, I colored the snowflake, stamped the sentiment and layered it all on the pattern paper. Pattern from this kit are really cute.Liked how the card turned out. However, I feel I could have used another sentiment.

I used the MFT Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies and finished off the card with sequins from the kit.

Thanks!!

# 68 - New Year Creative Challenge Begins...

Hello,

Long time since I posted something on my blog. Was caught up with so many other commitments. First and foremost, Happy New Year to all....

After finishing my Christmas series(which I enjoyed a lot), I got thinking about my next plans for crafting this year and I came up something. I am going to call it my very own Creative Challenge. Well, I am going to be really flexible about it, but going to try and stick to what I have decided as much as possible.

After my Christmas series, I started reorganising my craft area and while doing so realized I have so much of material in stash that I have not used. So, this year I am going to select one thing every week and work on it - be it stamps, dies, stencils, quilling or any new technique... just anything. That does not mean, I wont do anything else. I definetly will. But highlight of the week would be that I chose. I am hoping to be regular about my commitment here but I think there would be some ups and downs. Lets hope I stick to my plan and just do it.

So, to begin I started with the Altenew Majestic Bloom Stamp set and here is my first card with it.

Lots of masking done here. Used the Winnie and Walter Stamps for sentiment.

Entering this card for the :

Happy Anniversary Paru.

Thanks!!
