IQCG #32 - Plants

Hello friends,

This month at IQCG we have the 'Plants' theme which I must say is one of favorite as far as quilling goes. I love quilling flowers and making plant patterns.

Here is my take on this month's IQCG - Plants theme,

The quilling strips used here are 3mm. I have used the WPlus9 'Happy Wishes' die set for the sentiment. Added some glitter glue for an shimmery effect.

Do join us for this month's challenge at IQCG and have fun.

Thank You!!

#67 - CAS card

Well, my next card is  CAS card which I created with my ltest supplies from Avery Elle and Winnie and Walter. Love those 2 stamp sets.

Here is the card,

I used the Modern leaves stamp set from Avery Elle and The Big, the Bold and Friends from Winnie and Walter. Used Memento Dye inks for stamping and finished off the card enamel dots and Wink of Stella glitter on the stamped images.

#66 - Mixed Media Page

Hellloo,

I did say I have a couple of projects to post today. My next one is a simple mixed media page which I made for the Happy Little Stampers DT Call. Off late, I have been watching lots of videos by Marta Lapkowska and I love watching them. She is an amazing artist and so very inspiring.

Here is my page,

I started off on n old cardstock. To creted a little texture I randomly stuck some old washi tape on it(you can see if you look closely) and then applied some Heavy Gesso from Art Basics. Added the color to the page using Gansi Tanbi watercolors and sprays of water. The stuck the wooden embellishments(frame with pearls), chipboards, flowers, metallic wire and stamens. I then added clear glitter randomly using soft gel medium. Added the two sentiments from Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker sheet. Finally, sprayed some Dylusions Mica Sprays over the page.

#65 - Watercolors

Back with  few cards after another short break. This time decided to do some watercoloring. I came across the DT call for Happy Little Stampers and thought of giving it a go.

Here is my card,

I started off with a watercolor wash on the Tim Holtz Distress watercolor cardstock with shades of blue using my brand new Gansai Tambi watercolors(my anniversary gift along with a few other goodies ;-) ). I then heat embossed the opposite corners using the Tim Holtz Flourish stencil. For my focal point, I did the emboss resist watercoloring technique with the flowers from the Penny Black Blooming Garden set and fussy cut them. Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from the My Favorite Things. Used foam tape to adhere the watercolored flowers at the center. Finally, layered this onto a black cardstock to complete the card.

IQCG # 31 - Bingo

Hello Crafty friends,

This is my first ever try at making a shabby chic card. Playing with layers of paper is not really me, but I really enjoyed making this card and I am really happy with the outcome.I made this card as DT inspiration for this month's IQCG Bingo challenge.

Bingo challenges/Tic-Tac-Toe challenges are so so so much. Here is my card,

I chose the middle horizontal line - Ribbon/lace - Flowers - Pink . Well, with this combination I had to make a shabby chic card.

The card is created with lots of layering from the Kaisercraft Rustic Harmony paper pads, a doily and lace here and there along with some pearls. I finished off the card with a few collectables from the Rustic Harmony set and pink flowers. I made the LOVE sentiment from scrabble embellishments.

The quilled elements in this card are the pink flowers which have been quilled from die-cuts that I had purchased long time back.

Looking forward for lots of entries for this challenge.

IQCG # 30 - Under the Sea

Hello everyone,

Long time since I blogged. Well, I might have take a few more days off if it wasn't for the IQCG # 30 DT post. This month at IQCG we have 'Under the Sea' challenge running.

Here is my inspiration,

I utterly enjoyed quilling this little fish. Fortunately, I had some beautiful pattern paper that I could use for the background.

I started off quilling the coils in pink and golden 3mm strips using an eccentric board for uniformity. I have these coils in 2 sizes which I have used as scales. I then made the scrolls for the fins. Finally, put it all together in a quilled circle.

Well, I hope everyone like this and would love to have some feedback.

Thanks.

#64 - Watercolor on the background

Hello,

Back with card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge. Loved the sketch and had to play along. Here is my card,

I randomly colored red, yellow and orange on a watercolor paper. Die-cut(Nellie Snellen Flower dies) the flowers from a white cardstock and used the negative to layer on the colored sheet with foam tape. Finished off the card with the sentiment from Hero Arts.
