IQCG # 30 - Under the Sea

Hello everyone,

Long time since I blogged. Well, I might have take a few more days off if it wasn't for the IQCG # 30 DT post. This month at IQCG we have 'Under the Sea' challenge running.

Here is my inspiration,

I utterly enjoyed quilling this little fish. Fortunately, I had some beautiful pattern paper that I could use for the background.

I started off quilling the coils in pink and golden 3mm strips using an eccentric board for uniformity. I have these coils in 2 sizes which I have used as scales. I then made the scrolls for the fins. Finally, put it all together in a quilled circle.

Well, I hope everyone like this and would love to have some feedback.

Thanks.

#64 - Watercolor on the background

Hello,

Back with card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge. Loved the sketch and had to play along. Here is my card,

I randomly colored red, yellow and orange on a watercolor paper. Die-cut(Nellie Snellen Flower dies) the flowers from a white cardstock and used the negative to layer on the colored sheet with foam tape. Finished off the card with the sentiment from Hero Arts.

#63- Flowers on Vellum

Hello...

I have been seeing so many cards using vellum especially heat embossing on vellum. I wanted try that and so I did. Here is a card where I heat embossed the flowers and fussy cut and colored lightly before using them on my card.
The stamped flowers are from Penny Black's Blooming Garden stamp set. Used pattern paper and some sequins. Finished off with the sentiment from MFT sentiment stamps.

#62 - Friendship card with a twist

Good Morning,

I am here today with my very first Shaker card. Absolutely enjoyed making this card, it was so much fun.

#61 - Christmas with peel-offs

Hellooo....

I am really enjoying blogging back to back... Feels so good.. Well, I created this card for the 'Less is More' Recipe challenge. Peel-off's have been lying in my stash for too long and I absolutely love making cards using them.

Here is my chance, I created a simple card with a plain background from the Cracked Pistachio Distress Spray and the peel-off elements are the silver snowflakes.

I first cut a watercolor paper into three panels. Stuck a silver washi tape on the cardstock at places in between the panels after which I glued the snowflake peel-off's onto the three panels and sprayed the Cracked Pistachio distress spray. Once the panel were dried I glued the peel-off sentiment and finally put it all togather with foam tape.

#60 - Happy Holidays

Hey there,

When I first heard of distress inks I didnt know anything about them. How to use, what are the techniques but the most impressive and effective that I absolutely loved was the Distress ink blending. I am no pro in this, but try my best to get some cool effects with this technique.

In this card, I have done some distress ink blending. Well, I tried my best to get good effects here but lets see what everyone feels.

Here is the card,

Used Dusty Concord, Pickled Raspberry and Salty Ocean distress inks for the background. The stamp and dies are from the Lawn Fawn 'Trim the Tree' .The christmas tree is watercolored and the little chrismas goodies on the tree are colored using glitter pens and sharpies. Few snowflakes are het embossed on the background. Used white glitter cardstock on the side panels and the central panel is stuck using foam tape.

#59 - Fun with Balloons

Hello friends,

Back with a cute and simple little fun card.  CASology cue word this week in FUN and when I saw this cue word all I could think of was balloons. Nobody could be uncheered with a balloon. And for me, seeing colorful balloons float in sky is a great pleasure. As a child, I enjoyed releasing balloons in the air but I never let the last one go ;-)

Here comes my card,

Stamped and die-cut the balloons and the little birdie from the Lawn Fawn Year 4 stamp set. I have also stamped a few balloons on the cardstock. For this card, I have used only the primary colors - Red, Yellow and Blue. Used Salty Ocean distress ink on the background to represent the sky. Stamped the 'yippee' sentiment as I believe anyone releasing the balloons would feel this.
